Aldo Fogazza

Born in 1957, in Palermo, Sicily, Italy.

At the age of 11 he began his training in Martial Arts (mainly Judo) and at 18 began the study of massage.  He continued his studies in London and China, where he obtained Diplomas in Acupuncture, Oriental Physiotherapy, Osteopathic Manipulation, Reflexology and Master in Reiki.  In China he specialized in paralysis and alopecia.  With this knowledge, he treated many famous people from Europe, North America and the Middle East, including Tina Turner, Sting, Donatella Versace, Brian Adams, Bianca Jagger and the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia.

In 1990 and 1993 he lived in a Soto Zen Buddhist Monastery in Japan, where he worked on his spiritual development.  It was here that he conceived the plan to open a centre where he could help support the local community; for this reason, in 1991, he travelled to Mexico for the first time and in 1993 he bought the land where today Centro Nijo is based.

After establishing his residency in Oaxaca, he continued his development studying with teachers of the shamanic tradition of Native Mexico, such as Zapotec, Huichol, Totonaca, Mexica, Maya, Tolteca and other Native North American groups.

In 1998 he founded ‘The Nijo Centre’, based in London, UK, whilst operating in the community El Zapotal, Oaxaca, Mexico.  There he began to construct the well being centre.  In 2003, the centres name changed to ‘Centro Nijo A.C.’, registered here in Mexico.

To continue his spiritual development and to extend his knowledge of ‘The Wheel of Medicine’ and the Sweatlodge, Aldo participated in the Sun Dance in the State of Mexico, following the Native North American traditions, every year from 2003 until 2009.

Currently he continues working for Centro Nijo A.C, where he puts into practice all of his knowledge into healing.

Aldo is our main therapist and President of the Asociation Centro Nijo.
He is a Healer and Shaman.

As a child Elisa was always involved in physical and creative activities participating in a variety of classes in drama, music and dance, such as contemporary/modern, ballet, tap and hip-hop. Whilst in secondary school together with 3 friends, she formed a peer support and counselling group.  Alongside academic qualifications, she took music, dance and drama at GCSE level.

In 2002, she graduated from the University of London with a degree in mathematics. Whilst at university, she continued to dance for enjoyment and expanded her repertoire.

Her interest in physical well-being and healing also led her to take a course in Reflexologia in 2001.  This she followed with studies in London and Italy completing Levels I and II in Reiki in 2002 and 2003.  In 2002, she also began yoga classes.

In 2003 Elisa decided to travel to Mexico, where she began work as the organiser/administrator of Centro Nijo A.C.. Once living in such a natural environment, she awakened a deeper understanding of ‘energy flow’ (Qi) taking a Diploma in Oriental Massage in 2003.  Since then she has continued to work for the Centre alongside her father, all the while furthering her interests in healing and wellbeing.
